Xi Lan was born at Zoo Atlanta in the United States. He returned to China on May 15, 2014. He is the offspring of the giant pandas Lun Lun and Yang Yang in the United States. His older brother, Mei Lan, was designated as the "Earth Hour" ambassador by the World Wildlife Fund in 2010 and 2011. Xi Lan's name means "the joy of Atlanta". Xi Lan's nickname is "Snow White", and he is the "returnee" giant panda known as "Xi er ye".

 

Bamboo shoots have the highest starch and cellulose content. Xi Lan loves bamboo shoots, and eating a lot of bamboo shoots can replenish his strength and maintain hisweight.
